The Chlostridium Rollercoaster

Well, yesterday wasn’t a good one for Presto. He wasn’t nursing as well, poop still very liquid, and he was very very dull. Little guy is still extremely sick, and still testing positive for both C perf and C def.

The (now huge team of) vets are doing everything they can think of to do for him, but it’s still very much touch and go. As of right now it could still go either way. Presto is fighting, but he’s awfully sick.

This morning he’s a bit more perky again, and nursing better, so we’ll see what today brings. Keep up the good thoughts guys! He really needs it.

  2. Little Presto. You can tell he’s happy to see you, but his eyes just don’t look as bright. We’re all pulling for you, little guy! Here’s to hoping today is a better day.

  3. One day at a time. Y’all can do this. Do not loose heart and do not forget to take care of yourself. Care for the caretakers is really important. How is Sadie doing?

  4. I wince every time I load your blog because I’m afraid of bad news. Rooting so hard for your little man. His sweet spirit comes through so clearly in your pictures and videos. The world needs this horse in it. Hang on, Presto!!! ❤ ❤ I'm also wincing for you when I think about the vet bills being accumulated here. Have you considered setting up a GoFundMe page to help out with the costs? I know that can feel like an awkward thing, so let me hopefully dispel some of the awkwardness by saying that I for one would be happy to pitch in to help get this guy through. If it would be helpful, please don't hesitate to go that route.

  5. Ugh. Poor guy! I’m feeling for all of you!! Out of curiosity, what kinds of treatments are they doing for him? We’ve come such a long way in treating C Dif in people, but I have no idea where modern veterinary medicine is on the treatment for horses.

    Keeping you in my thoughts!

  6. Keeping the love and good thoughts headed to you, Sadie, and Presto. He’s a fighter. If he’s come this far, he’ll keep coming. He’s clearly not giving up and we won’t either.

I agree with the others talking about a donation page, I would love to give a little bit to help if I could.
