Yup, this one is definitely up my alley.
Let’s continue pretending that horse poop magically transforms into money instead of the other way. So money doesn’t matter. If you could buy anything for your horse, what would you buy?
1) A truck and trailer. Specifically a 2 horse gooseneck straightload, extra-large, with a ramp and a dressing room that I could throw a mattress and an AC unit into. Although really at this point I’d take anything he’d fit into that was safe. My life would be infinitely easier if I had my own truck and trailer. Independence is a priceless thing and not having your own wheels really sucks.
2) a custom french dressage saddle. Because once you’re used to custom and french, it’s really hard to love anything else, and Henry seems to agree. So I’ll take one Devoucoux Milady, please and thank you.
3) More PS of Sweden. Duh. The hackamore bridle needs to join my fleet because the hack I have now just does not fit well and drives me (and thus Henry) bonkers.
4) His own personal masseuse and chiropractor to come out at least twice a month.
5) A lifetime supply of Stud Muffins. Really these would be #1 on his list.
Otherwise, I feel like he’s got pretty much everything he needs and wants, because he’s kind of spoiled rotten.
Totally concur with the trailer thing! I used to have a trailer, now i don’t and the reliance on others thing sucks

I have had my eye on the Hawk 2+1 for over a year. I love the extra space for a 3rd horse, box stall, indoor grooming area, storage – plus the side off loading ramp. My head to head has 2 ramps on the side so they can just walk forward to unload. I Love that.

I love the 2 + 1 as well but it’s unlikely that’d ever happen. Really I don’t need anything more than a 2h bumper pull for what I do, but a gal can dream, right?

I’ve been scouring the french saddle for sale sites, hoping to stumble across the perfect one for an amazing deal. Hey… it happened with my CWD, maybe lightning will strike twice! 😉

I totally feel you on the trailer thing.

The worst thing is having a trailer and then going back to not having one. Thankfully we don’t have many places to go right now and do have a trailer to borrow if need be. I’d love to have one again though. I got spoiled by a GN trailer, but I’d totally settle for a 2H BP. There’s one on our local Craiglist right now that’s calling my name. Screw not having any money. 😉

Can I ask a trailer question since it’s on the list? How much does it usually cost for insurance per year to own a trailer?

it depends on your trailer, but a few hundred a year is average from what I’ve seen.

Hmmm. . . my husband has mentioned getting one. I have never driven one and it kind of scares me. I feel like the amount of money it would cost to buy and insure would not equal out to the limited usage expended. I’m not a show every weekend person. Good things to think about.

Awesome trailer choice! I just bought that same trailer, but without the gooseneck.

That saddle is lovely. I’m struggling with this question because really O’s pretty easy and happy with life.

I’m hoping by the time my parents are set to be done with hosting (for lack of a better word… since all she does is eat…) my mare at home, aka retire and move, I’ll be in a place where ta-DA, mom & dad, look at THAT, the trailer wants to be passed down to me and live with me?! Well, I’ll be damned…

That seems perfectly reasonable to me

I want a trailer. 😦 Just a little two-horse, extra-tall, slant-load bumper pull with a dressing room.
